Obsessed

The First Aid class I taught today went really well! I was done after only three and a half hours and all of the students really seemed to enjoy the class. Those are obviously great things. Not so great, I had to buy a $6 bottle of Advil with about 5 pills in it. I don’t want to talk about it.

Anyway….

I’ve been completely obsessed with a couple applications on my iPhone. Like every other blogger, I’m obsessed with Instagram, and you should be too. It’s an application that you can use to take pictures and edit them to have different effects, or just edit the pictures you already have on your phone.

I’m also obsessed with Fooducate. It includes a barcode scanner to scan for products, grades them and explains the grade. I love that it explains what each additive in the food is and why it can be harmful.

Fooducate also offers alternative products that have a higher rating and are similar to the product you searched for.

I’m not sure if these applications are available on every phone, but I definitely recommend them. Instagram is a fun, playful application and Fooducate is a helpful and interesting tool for watching what we eat. I don’t pay attention to the calorie portion of the application, but knowing what is in my food is really important to me and the barcode scanner makes searching for foods really simple.

Dinner:

Smoothie in a Bowl!! I really think I’m obsessed with these. Smoothies are slowly becoming my favorite food. Is that weird? It’s so strange, after I drink a smoothie I suddenly feel energized & in such a better mood.

(recycled picture but it looked pretty similar)

The Mix:

6 ice cubes

1 handful spinach

1/2 cup greek yogurt

1 cup milk

1/2 banana (ran out of frozen ones & forgot to put new ones in the freezer)

1.5 cup frozen fruit

1 tbsp peanut butter (blended in)

granola for topping

I also took advantage of Gap’s 40% off promo. 40% off all sale items! I’m addicted to online shopping!!

What are your favorite phone applications?

What are you obsessed with?

Instagram?? Hmm…do you need an iphone for that? I just have a (weak) cell phone that I’m stuck in a contract with….do you have a good camera? I’d love to invest in a good one – but they can be SO expensive! Yikes…

Your smoothie looks so beautiful!! Is it thick? Would it be thick without the yogurt I wonder…I love yogurt and wouldn’t want to “waste” it in a smoothie but enjoy it on it’s own ;) I know – I’m scrupulous with food and money ;)

    • I’m not sure if you have to have an iPhone for Instagram…I don’t see why you would need one because all it uses is the camera? Not sure. I definitely LOVE the iPhone because it’s so simple. It is really expensive & the only reason I got it is because my old Droid broke, I had an upgrade and I had a $100 credit on my account I got the 16gb and even with the $100 credit it turned out to be $200 with the accessories included (screen protector, car charger, case, insurance). I think its worth it though, the guy said people rarely have problems with their new iPhones …I usually have TERRIBLE luck with cell phones and this one hasn’t caused me any problems yet (knock on wood)

I actually usually don’t put yogurt in my smoothies! The only time I do is when I have an awkward amount left over in the container…I don’t find that it really affects the thickness as much as frozen fruit. Using fozen fruit is key! I’m totally careful about wasting food & money too, no worries! I was actually telling my mom the other day I felt like buying the medium sized yogurt containers is a waste of money because it gets used up so quickly…looks like I need to start buying yogurt from Costco!
